Monday, December 15th, 2014 – Resource Edge, makers of recruiting software product, TalentHook Cloud, and insurance and financial service prospecting tool, InsuraSeek, are releasing a software update to their users that includes a major enhancement to the search functionality of their products.
There are millions of resumes online. Since 1999, Resource Edge has provided search aggregation tools used to consolidate and automate resume search on premium employment recruiting websites. This spidering technology has been critical in helping recruiting functions save administrative time in their recruiting process while eliminating bloated databases filled with duplicate resumes. One of the challenges faced in today’s recruiting landscape is finding additional resumes that are off the beaten path. Finding the right professional with the right experience – whether they are active or passive job seekers.
To meet this challenge, recruiters have found success combining their pay board strategy with a community oriented strategy that covers online spaces like social media outlets and professional networking websites. The goal for aggregation has been to make the technology flexible enough to search the nontraditional resources with the same efficiency recruiters have come to expect from pay board searching. While employment recruiting websites use mostly standard search algorithms to retrieve resume data, other websites not designed with recruitment in mind, often use search algorithms that are completely different. For search aggregators, that often leads to less than optimal results when a user attempts to expand their search beyond the resume rich pay boards. This roadblock leads to the user establishing workarounds in their recruiting process to ensure candidate pipelines stay full of leads coming from a strong, varied network of sources.
With this current recruiting software update, users of the TalentHook Cloud product will be introduced to Virtual Researcher, the innovative new aggregation technology that takes the guesswork out of searching social and professional networks, community pages and countless websites not built with the recruiter in mind. Virtual Researcher adds new scope and reach to TalentHook’s search functionality, giving users the ability to consolidate their entire online sourcing strategy into one, expansive search across employment websites and anywhere else a lead can be found online.
In addition to allowing recruiters to consolidate their online sourcing strategy through one search, Virtual Researcher makes it easier to target sourcing to specific geographies. Previously users would need to exercise some clever maneuvering of their search keywords to ensure they could capture the right talent pool in the right radius. For broad channel searching, this could mean configuring five or six different searches to accommodate the many types of available websites online. Virtual Researcher performs like a virtual assistant to the end user, taking the basic keywords and desired locations established in one search and configuring hundreds of individual searches conducted on the backend, to better find and retrieve results across over 2300 potential online sources available in the TalentHook product. This powerful feature unburdens the recruiter, executes hundreds of potential configurations and frees that recruiter up to spend less time structuring their recruiting process and more time developing relationships and building pipelines based on reliable, unduplicated results.
Resource Edge President and COO Don Weis refers to the timing of this release as the perfect holiday gift.
“This feature basically affords every recruiter one of the biggest items on their wish list. An assistant,” says Weis. “Virtual Researcher truly is another teammate, ready to take the requirements of the position and develop the internet strategy that will be used to find every potential lead online. Coupled with the automated recruitment marketing emails configured within our product, it’s not an exaggeration to say Virtual Researcher finds leads and takes the initiative to break the ice and see if those prospects might be up to having a very productive conversation.”
The Virtual Researcher feature is currently on a rollout schedule to users of the TalentHook Cloud product.
